Life doesn\u2019t always unfold as we plan. In 2007, I faced one of the most challenging phases of my life \u2014 I lost my husband. Along with the emotional storm came countless struggles \u2014 pending loans, court cases, and a failing business. Everything seemed to collapse around me.<\/p>\n

But as a life coach, I often say, the darkest times shape the strongest souls. Back then, I wasn\u2019t the \u201cBest Life Coach<\/a><\/strong>\u201d people now know me as. I was a woman trying to rebuild her life, one decision at a time.<\/p>\n

The Challenge of Leadership<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When I took charge of the business, I quickly realized something disturbing \u2014 people were not serious about their work. Machines weren\u2019t handled properly, raw materials were wasted, and efficiency was missing.<\/p>\n

I had two options \u2014 scold them or fire them. But neither felt right. Deep down, I knew that the real problem wasn\u2019t their capability \u2014 it was their mindset. They didn\u2019t feel connected to the company. They lacked a sense of purpose.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when I decided to change my approach \u2014 from authority to empathy.<\/p>\n

The Airplane Story That Changed Everything<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One day, I gathered all the workers at the factory. I didn\u2019t have a speech ready, but a thought struck me \u2014 something I once read in a book.<\/p>\n

I asked, \u201cHave you ever been on an airplane?\u201d
\nSome said yes, some said no.<\/p>\n

\"RituThen I asked, \u201cWhat does an airplane need to fly?\u201d<\/span>They said \u2014 \u201ca pilot,\u201d \u201cfuel,\u201d \u201cpower,\u201d \u201cenergy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I smiled and said, \u201cExactly. And what happens if the airplane doesn\u2019t get these?\u201d
\nThey answered, \u201cIt crashes.\u201d<\/p>\n

I looked around and told them, \u201cOur company is that airplane. Each one of you is its power, energy, and pilot. If we all give our best, we will fly high. If we don\u2019t, we will crash. The choice is ours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those few minutes transformed everything<\/a><\/strong>. The energy shifted. People began working with ownership, with pride. For the first time, they realized that they weren\u2019t just employees \u2014 they were the heartbeat of the organization.<\/p>\n

Touching Emotions Builds Teams<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I learned that emotions drive people more than instructions ever can. So, I began focusing on team building through emotional connection.<\/p>\n

We started organizing events that included everyone \u2014 even blue-collar workers. I joined them personally, laughed with them, and listened to their challenges. These moments of connection brought magic to our workplace.<\/p>\n

However, I still noticed a pattern. Whenever I introduced a new idea, I heard replies like,
\n\u201cThis isn\u2019t possible.\u201d
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve tried it before.\u201d
\n\u201cIt never works.\u201d<\/p>\n

That mindset was holding them back more than any external obstacle.<\/p>\n
